Who runs Digital Fracture?

Digital Fracture is a sole trader operation run by Dave-Lee. You deal directly with the person who builds and maintains everything — no middlemen, no outsourcing.

Many of our tools are free. The RSS Kit web app, NewsBin, What's My IP, Time Tools, Fingerprint Defender, and Parental Whitelist are all completely free to use. InfoBin, RSS Ninja, and the RSS Kit Pro browser extension are paid products. The Retro Media Vault Joomla plugins are also paid, though the Categories, Canonical URLs, and Sitemap plugins are free.

Where are you based?

Poole, Dorset, England. PC repairs are available locally in the Poole and Bournemouth area. Software and web design services are available to anyone.

How do I get in touch or report a bug?

Privacy & Data

Do you collect any user data?

No. Privacy is built into everything we make. Our browser extensions don't phone home or track you. Web apps like InfoBin are zero-knowledge — we can't see what you share even if we wanted to. We don't use tracking pixels, analytics harvesting, or sell any data.

Do your browser extensions collect browsing data?

No. Our extensions collect zero data. There's no tracking of browsing activity, no telemetry, no data sent to servers or third parties. Everything is stored locally on your device and deleted when you uninstall the extension.

What cookies does this website use?

Essential cookies only (session and security). We offer optional analytics cookies that collect anonymous usage data to help us improve our tools — no data is sold or shared. You can manage your preferences at any time using the cookie settings button in the bottom-left corner.

Are you GDPR compliant?

Yes. We act as data controller and process data under lawful bases including consent, legitimate interests, and contractual obligation. You have full rights to access, rectify, erase, or port your data. We respond to all requests within 30 days. No data is transferred outside the UK/EU. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

How long do you keep my data?

Contact form submissions are kept for up to 12 months. Support requests are kept for up to 24 months. Server logs are retained for up to 30 days. You can request early deletion at any time via our contact page.

Software & Web Apps

What web apps do you offer?

We currently maintain six web apps:

InfoBin (paid) — zero-knowledge encrypted file sharing with AES-256 encryption and self-destructing links.
NewsBin (free) — 24-hour news aggregator with anonymous commenting, reset daily.
RSS Kit (free) — feed discovery tool with 200+ sources, real-time validation, and OPML export.
RSS Ninja (paid) — full-featured RSS reader with nested folders and multiple views.
What's My IP (free) — IP toolkit with geolocation, DNS lookup, and WHOIS information.
Time Tools (free) — clock, world time, Pomodoro, and stopwatch for remote teams.

What is InfoBin and how does it work?

InfoBin is a zero-knowledge file sharing tool. Files are encrypted with AES-256 in your browser before upload and self-destruct after one view. No accounts, no metadata, no way for us to access your data. The encryption key never leaves your browser — only the person you share the link with can decrypt it.

What is NewsBin?

NewsBin is a 24-hour news aggregator that pulls in articles from mainstream and independent sources. It features anonymous commenting and resets daily, so there's no archive and no profiling. Visit newsbin.co.uk to try it.

What is the difference between RSS Kit Pro and RSS Ninja?

RSS Kit Pro is a feed discovery and management tool — it helps you find feeds from 200+ sources, validate them, export OPML, and organise with folders and cloud sync. RSS Ninja is a full RSS reader for consuming feeds with nested folders, multiple views, and auto-detection. They complement each other, but work independently.

Browser Extensions

Which browsers do your extensions support?

RSS Kit Pro (paid) — Firefox, Chrome, and Edge.
RSS Ninja (paid) — Firefox, Chrome, and Edge.
RSS Ninja for Thunderbird (paid) — Thunderbird email client.
Fingerprint Defender (free) — Firefox only.
Parental Whitelist (free) — Firefox only.

What does Fingerprint Defender do?

Fingerprint Defender protects you from browser fingerprinting with 10 protection modules. It blocks WebRTC leaks and spoofs canvas, audio, WebGL, and other fingerprinting vectors that websites use to track you without cookies.

What is Parental Whitelist?

Parental Whitelist is a Firefox extension that lets you create a PIN-protected list of allowed websites. Any site not on the list is blocked. It's designed for parents who want simple, transparent control over which sites their children can access.

Will your extensions slow down my browser?

No. Our extensions are lightweight and built without bloat. They don't run background processes, make network requests, or load unnecessary resources. You shouldn't notice any performance impact.

Are your extensions open source?

The source code for all extensions is reviewable via the browser store listings. Extensions distributed through Mozilla, Chrome, and Edge stores are reviewed by their respective teams before publication.
